Born in Morlaix on th july 1845 Died in Paris on 1 st March 1875
his legacy was one unique work entiled " Amours jaunes" ( 1873) wich he dedicaced to his father. The French poet Verlaine brought him to the limelight as precursory of modern poetry in his " Poètes maudits" .
Tristan Corbière, whose real name was Edouard Joachim, spent a peaceful childhood in the Manor de Launay before being sent to board in St Brieuc where he experienced a difficult year. The teenager endured forstbite brought on by the cold living conditions and missed home terribly. It was in these challenging circumstances that he wrote his first poems. He became ill and was sent to live with his uncle, a doctor in Nantes, where he continued his schooling at the Lycée. owever, his health worsened and he was unable to take his baccalauréat. The young man was then sent to the seaside town of Roscoff. Aged eighteen, Corbière's life was plagued by ill health and unhappy romances. His rheumtism troubled him throughout his life, preventing his from pursuing his dreams, that in particular of joining the marines. In 1875 he moved to Paris and died the same year .
